PreCalculus

PreCalculus is the class that comes after Algebra II and before Calculus. As taught at Capitan High School it is one semester of Trigonometry and one semester of Advanced Algebra or Algebra III. This class is very helpful for anyone who will take the ACT test, as about 25% of the points on the math part of the ACT relate to trig and advanced algebra.

The Advanced Algebra portion of the class covers the following topics:

  • Exponents & Radicals
  • Polynomials & Factoring
  • Solving Equations
  • Graphs of Equations
  • Functions, Combinations, and Inverses
  • Quadratic Functions
  • Higher Degree Polynomials and Polynomial Division
  • Complex Numbers (Imaginary Numbers)
